Following the 'prohibitory order' issued by the District Administration Offices of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur to only allow operation of essential services from 29 April 2021, the Central Zoo in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur will be closed to visitors until further notice. The decision has been made in response to the increased rate of new COVID-19 infections seen recently in Kathmandu Valley. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope we can reopen soon once the situation improves. In the time being, please take good care of yourself, your near and dear ones, and act responsibly. Wear a mask, maintain physical distancing and indoor ventilation, practice good hygiene, and do not move outside unless absolutely necessary.
