Building on our recent assessments across Karnali Province under the Climate Resilient Landscapes and Livelihoods Project (CRLLP), NTNC team visited Syarpu Lake in Rukum- West.

The team conducted on-site assessments and engaged with local stakeholders and community representatives to review ongoing site activities and proposed infrastructure interventions including perimeter protection, view-point decks, and visitor facilities. Syarpu is a stunning freshwater lake with significant ecological value and vast potential for sustainable ecotourism.

.

NTNC is committed to ensuring that all planned conservation and infrastructure activities are technically sound, risk-informed, and sustainably managed. In this regard, NTNC is reviewing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and coordinating closely with local government bodies, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment (MoITFE), Karnali Province, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and relevant stakeholders to harmonize site conservation with broader development plans.
