Today, 21 August, NTNC officially hosted a welcome event for its new Chairperson, Hon. Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, Minister for Forests and Environment, at its central office.
The welcome was accompanied together with a farewell programme for the former NTNC Chairperson, Dr. Krishna Prasad Oli, who will shortly be taking on the responsibility as the new Ambassador of Nepal to China.
The greeting and exchange event was led by the NTNC Member Secretary Dr. Naresh Subedi, together in the company of Board Members – Dr. Govinda Prasad Sharma, Secretary of the Ministry of Forests and Environment, Dr. Shambu Prasad Dangal, Dr. Ram Prasad Chaudhary, Dr. Shubh Narayan Mahato, Dr. Bijay Kumar Singh Danuwar, and Ms. Swati Thapa.
Accolades were shared in the process with reflections and new commitments being made to further NTNC’s impact.
Reflecting on his 40-month-long tenure, the former NTNC Chairperson, Dr. Oli, shared about initiatives taken, achievements made and priorities to be pursued, to build on NTNC’s integrity and value for the Government of Nepal as an autonomous and specialized institution.
The new Chairperson, Hon. Minister Thakuri, shared his commitment to enrich the legacy and leadership of the institution. He noted that NTNC's institutional credibility, its international partnerships and networks, would have an important role in meeting the multifaceted potentials and challenges of Nepal's sustainability and prosperity agenda.
