NTNC, in collaboration with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) and the Department of Forests and Soil Conservation (DoFSC), successfully concluded a five-day Conservation Law Enforcement (CLE) Instructor Development Course in Pokhara, held from 26 - 30 July 2026.
Supported technically and financially by the United States Forest Service International Programs and Trade, the course aimed to build a pool of qualified conservation law enforcement instructors in Nepal. USFS International Programs has partnered with NTNC since 2021 on the development and delivery of the Nepal Conservation Law Enforcement Training Curriculum, with the goal of enhancing standardized ranger training across the country.
The training brought together ten officers from DNPWC and provincial forest offices to strengthen their knowledge and skills in delivering future conservation law enforcement training. Sessions covered instructor development, adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, training methodologies, presentation skills, and practical exercises relevant to conservation law enforcement. Participants completed the course equipped to serve as national-level instructors, capable of delivering consistent, effective training to frontline conservation personnel.
The newly trained instructors are expected to play a key role in cascading standardized training to rangers, field staff and in future training initiatives in the years ahead.
Through this collaborative effort, participating institutions are working to strengthen institutional capacity and promote more effective conservation law enforcement across Nepal.
