A male elephant named Yamgaj, who was seen limping in Parsa National Park, has been successfully rescued, treated and released in Rautahat district.
After receiving reports of the injury from the Division Forest Office, Rautahat, a rescue team of NTNC-BCC was mobilized for treatment on 12 February.
On 13 February, the injured Yamgaj was spotted by the river near a village in Chandrapur-2, where it was followed by a team and immobilized in the nearby forest area.
Upon carrying out physical examination, the elephant is seen to have been injured around its knee area, in the right forelimb, which is thought to have been caused by a sharp metal object.
NTNC’s technical team released the elephant following treatment.
