National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Chiranjibi Prasad Pokharel as its new Member Secretary, effective from May 12, 2026.

The appointment was made by the Honorable Minister of Forests and Environment and Chairperson of NTNC, Gita Chaudhary, with Dr. Pokharel set to serve in this leadership capacity until further notice. A distinguished wildlife biologist and conservation planner, Dr. Pokharel is a globally recognized tiger expert with over 27 years of professional experience.

Prior to this appointment, he served as the Program Director at NTNC, holding the most senior staff position within the organization, where he was instrumental in overseeing large-scale conservation initiatives and research. Upon assuming his new leadership role, Dr. Pokharel expressed a deep commitment to upholding the Trust’s mission, vision, and values.

He pledged to lead the institution toward even greater milestones, leveraging his extensive field experience and strategic insight to enhance Nepal’s biodiversity conservation efforts. The NTNC family congratulates Dr. Pokharel on his appointment and looks forward to a new chapter of impactful conservation under his expert guidance.
