National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) today on the April 24, 2018 at the NTNC Central Office in Khumaltar, Lalitpur. Signing on behalf of the two parties were Mr. Govinda Gajurel, Member Secretary, NTNC and Mr. Bijendra Suwal, Deputy General Manager, NIBL.

In accordance to the MOU, NIBL will allocate NRs. 5 million in the first phase for establishing an Interactive Information Centre at the Central Zoo premises in Jawalakhel. The planned Centre promises to be a first-of-its-kind facility using creative design and technology-induced mediums for promoting wildlife and biodiversity awareness.

As mandated by the Government of Nepal, NTNC has been managing the Central Zoo for the past 22 years. Hosting more than one million visitors each year, the new information centre will further help advance the Central Zoo’s impact on conservation education and awareness.
