Trail Auditor Certification Ceremony & Trail Standards Guideline unveiling

Following the successful implementation of the 10-day training: ‘Nepal Trekking Trail Standards Implementation and Trail Grading System Development Training’ by SAMARTH – NMDP in association with World Trails Network and Green Flag Trails International, conducted during October 19-28, 2016, the Trail Auditor Certification Ceremony along with the Trail Standards Guideline unveiling was held at the Nepal Tourism Board Hall, Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu, on 20 February 2017 (9 Falgun 2073).

Apart from the unveiling ceremony of the Trails Standard Guidelines--aimed at establishing a sound framework for enhancing quality trail-user experience--the proceedings also involved a formal oath taking ceremony by all successful trail auditors, presided by Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, as the chief guest at this event. Among the attendees, governement officials and stakeholders institutions included senior representatives from: MoCTTCA, DNPWC, NTNC, NTB, TAAN, DFiD, Samartha-NMDP, WFP among others.

From a total of 11 successful trail auditors feliciated, trainee-participants from NTNC included:

  1. Ms. Rashmi Acharya (ACAP)
  2. Mr. Bishnu S. Thakuri (MCAP)
  3. Mr. Bikhyat Sherchan (ACAP)
