NTNC Officer, Mr. Naresh Subedi awarded “Conservation Hero” by IUCN

Mr. Naresh Subedi, Project Chief of National Trust for Nature Conservation’s (NTNC) Biodiversity Conservation Center (BCC), Sauraha, Chitwan has been awarded with the prestigious title of “Conservation Hero” by the World Conservation Union (IUCN) for his outstanding work in the field of wildlife conservation in Nepal. In a message, the Regional Director, Asia, Mr. Aban Marker Kabraji writes “I have long appreciated the values of your work, and am extraordinarily pleased that IUCN recognized your dedication and contribution by profiling you on the website”

Mr. Subedi started his career as a Conservation Officer at Bardia Conservation Programme of the Trust at Bardia National Park from 2003. He was involved in numerous wildlife research works from rhino counts, tiger census, rhino translocation etc. He is also a PhD scholar undertaking research in assessing the impact of Mikania micrantha, a major invasive species in Nepal, on rhinos and its habitat. The Trust family applauds his achievements wishes him further success in his efforts to conserve the rich biological diversity of global importance of the country.
